Product shots of the rumored upcoming Stüssy x Nike Air Force 1 Mid have surfaced online, prompting many to believe an announcement and subsequent release could be just around the corner. The pair is expected to be part of Nike’s 40th-anniversary celebrations for the Air Force 1 in 2022.
The Stüssy x Nike Air Force 1 Mid is rumored to drop in three colorways. In addition to the black/grey colorway pictured above, leakers also revealed first looks at a rumored all-black iteration, which channels Stüssy's 2001 Dunk High down to its reptilian Swoosh.
The supposed new Stüssy x Nike apparel collection also landed on the net, showcasing a tee featuring a stacked graphic of the brands' logos and "peace-and-love" symbols.
While Air Force 1 Mids have traditionally been the less popular variant of the model, Nike has made a concerted effort to push the Mid-variant of some of its most popular sneakers, including the Air Jordan 1. This, and the increased coverage of Mids by publications such as ours or Instagram mood boards, led to some sneakerheads believing that there was a “Mid-Agenda” online.
That’s clearly not the case, however, it has to be said that the Swoosh has definitely given those variants more attention over the past few seasons, which has included collaborations, such as this upcoming Stüssy project, and better general release colorways.
